Ashes to ashes

It had been 4 days since Mark died. Today he was cremated. Ginger was furious at what he had done! He was a rotten child. She did not know why he was so angry all of the time. He jumped into a pit of snakes and chose to die by being bitten to death! Besides be a caring mother what had she ever done to make him loathe her so much. She did not want anything more to do with Mark. Thelma had to get Mark’s ashes and she carried his urn into the home and placed it in the living room. Ginger picked up the urn after staring at it for 2 min. Then she angrily took the ashes and flushed them down the toilet! To hell with you! Then she spat in the mushy mess and yanked so hard on the toilet handle that it rose back up with a loud clank. Ginger’s other children were standing at the entrance to the bathroom crying and screaming at Ginger’s violent behavior. I hate him! I’m glad that he left us! Ginger said to her kids. Please stay with us tonight Ginger said to Thelma.

Thelma and her children were all laying on 2 large air mattresses in Thelma’s living room. Ginger and her children were all lying on a custom deluxe air mattress that her husband had made for them on the other side of the room. They were all just sitting quietly thinking when the lights flickered off and one of the light bulbs busted. Glass flew across the room hitting everyone in the room. Everyone sat up brushing glass away from them.

The oddest event of the evening started 15 min later. After they all cleaned up the glass they all had agreed that they wanted to light the fire place. They had begun to talk. Ginger seemed to show some friendliness after her angry behavior these past 4 days. I just don’t understand his choice to kill himself. Ginger was stroking one of her kids on the head when unexpectedly the flames in the fireplace began to diminish. Everyone stopped and stared at the fireplace baffled. The coals began to turn a bright red then they began to jiggle. The coals shot out of the fireplace one by one striking Ginger in the forehead, nose, temples, breast, hands, and forearms. Everyone screamed and was standing. They had backed away from Ginger. The coals kept flying out of the fireplace hitting and burning Ginger. She screamed from the searing hot coals that were charring her skin as they hit her. The attack stopped once all of the coals had been ejected from the fire place. All of the ashes in the fireplace began to form a mini dust devil. The dust devil moved out of the fireplace at 20 mph and smashed into Ginger only. Ginger coughed and gasped for air there was a bunch of ash in her face. Thelma believes that it was a final F you from Mark to his mother.
